  • "Aufbruchsstimmung" weaves together different perspectives on social upheaval and moments of change. The starting point for the work's research were three central figures of the Austrian women's labor movement: Adelheid Popp, Käthe Leichter and Rosa Jochmann. Their stories, their political courage and their unwavering belief in the possibility of change form the conceptual foundation of the work.

The depicted portraits of Popp and Leichter, as well as the opening eye — inspired by a quote from Rosa Jochmann — point to seeing, recognizing and acting as a collective task. The work condenses historical struggles for rights and participation into a multi-layered visual language that raises questions about contemporary forms of resistance and transformation. What was possible then seems conceivable again today.

The motif was originally created for #DachArt at the Wien Museum in Vienna, where it shaped the urban landscape for a year and carefully printed at Siebdruckatelier
